This season, these carefully selected LG Seeds products didn't just meet expectations — they set new standards for consistent performance.
Key Takeaways:
- Field-tested Big 5 lineups delivered reliable yields across diverse growing conditions.
- Strategic management decisions maximize these proven performers’ yield potential.
- Adaptable genetics led to dependable performance regardless of soil type or environment.
From weather challenges to tough field conditions, these Big 5 selections demonstrated why they deserve a place in your fields. Let's look at the standout performers that delivered in 2024 and can help drive success on your farm in 2025:
LG64C43: The Heavy Hitter
Big 5 starter across: Northern Illinois, Central & Southern Illinois, Northern Indiana & Ohio, Mid-South, Iowa, Eastern Nebraska, Eastern Kansas & Missouri, Northern High Plains and Southern High Plains

Selected for the Big 5 in nine regions, LG64C43 lets its performance speak for itself with its strong and early debut in 2024. What sets it apart is its large, square, deep kernels that filled bins during harvest.
LG Seeds agronomist, Alex Cox, has seen its versatility firsthand: "LG64C43 has some of the highest yield potential of any hybrid in our lineup,” he says. “It has population flexibility. I've seen it produce over 200 bpa when planted around 24K population on numerous occasions. It has kernel flex, so it can produce deep kernels, and lots of yield is determined during grain fill. It works in both dryland and irrigated placement."
From high-yield environments to tough, drought-prone soils, LG64C43 adapts. LG Seeds agronomist Kyle Malcolm emphasizes that with solid nitrogen and fungicide management, this hybrid rewards your efforts with superior yields.
The proof is in the field performance, and consistent ear lines across every acre has proven its reliability. In Eastern Kansas and Western Missouri, it made such an impression that one dealer claimed "LG64C43 is going to single-handedly put LG Seeds on the map in the state of Missouri.", says Cox.
"We usually place it on productive soil such as irrigated ground, river bottom, creek bottom, glacial hillside or anywhere with appropriate amounts of silt and clay," Cox says. "We shoot for top-end yields, apply fungicide and usually split apply nitrogen for LG64C43."
"2024 brought pretty good growing conditions with just enough rain and mild temperatures most of the summer," Cox continues. "LG64C43 thrived in those conditions like most corn would, but it actually won a few plots and was top five in most. Its ear length was average, but what really stood out was the deep kernels."
LG52C90: The Architect

Big 5 champion in: Wisconsin and Michigan
Looking for a 102-day hybrid that performs across your fields? LG52C90 earned its spot by mastering the fundamentals. LG Seeds agronomist, Justin Schneider, watched it provide reliable performance across every acre in 2024, regardless of management practices or growing conditions.
From emergence through harvest, this Big 5 selection demonstrates its potential. What sets it apart is its larger kernels that deliver when growing conditions are right for timely fungicide applications. LG52C90 comes equipped with solid natural disease tolerance. But adding late-season fungicides at tassel unleashes its full yield potential and allows those big kernels to flex out even further.
Strong stalks and robust roots provide a solid foundation across all soil types. Despite its earlier maturity, LG52C90 competes with longer-season hybrids. When you need a hybrid that combines reliability with versatile performance, this Big 5 selection delivers from the ground up.
LG62C22: #1 Draft Pick

Big 5 powerhouse in: Mid-South, Iowa and Eastern Nebraska
Some hybrids win with flash, but LG62C22 wins with pure reliability. It earned its reputation through consistent, repeatable performance across every environment we saw in 2024. LG Seeds agronomists Brian Wiehmer and Bryant Luers saw it adapt in 2024 to match drainage, fertility and management styles, from dryland to high-fertility fields across the Midwest.
Iowa agronomist Jed Norman speaks to its versatility: "LG62C22VT2 has been a dominant performer these past two years in Iowa,” he says. “We really can depend on it being versatile. Any management style we throw at it, low population, high population, marginal soil or productivity, it really thrived. Topping it all off is the super high test weight and grain quality. It’ll be hard to find a product that can compare in that characteristic."
Plant health, consistent ear set and field-to-field reliability — this Big 5 selection delivers the complete package.
LG38C48: The Rocket

Big 5 rookie sensation in: Wisconsin, North Dakota & Northern Minnesota
Making an immediate impact in its Big 5 debut, LG38C48 demonstrated why it earned a spot in our lineup. LG Seeds agronomist Tim Beninga tracked its performance throughout 2024, noting its explosive emergence and early-season vigor that set fields up for success from day one.
"What caught my attention right away was how quickly and uniformly it emerged," says Beninga. "But what really impressed me was how it maintained outstanding plant health well into the fall. We saw strong stalks and healthy leaves when other hybrids were starting to show wear."
This tall, versatile performer kept its composure under diverse conditions. Whether it was placed on premium ground or faced more challenging field conditions, LG38C48 maintained its stability and yield potential. Its strong emergence combined with excellent late-season plant health delivered the kind of reliable performance farmers count on.
Beninga particularly noted its:
- Exceptional early-season vigor
- Strong emergence across soil conditions
- Outstanding late-season plant health
- Competitive yields that outpaced longer-season options
- Reliable performance in both optimal and challenging environments

Performance may vary from location to location and from year to year, as local growing, soil and weather conditions may vary. Growers should evaluate data from multiple locations and years whenever possible and should consider the impacts of these conditions on the grower’s fields.
