Reliable Soybean Recommendations for 2023 Planting

You know your fields best. But when you need a little extra support, LG Seeds is here for reliable recommendations that can help you make the most of each of your acres.

Whatever the specifics of your fields, we have seed options that fit what you need – from our tried-and-true soybean varieties to our new additions that exhibited outstanding plot performance this year.

For the top, agronomist-recommended varieties for 2023 planting, read on:

LGS1385XF – One of our favorite new hybrids that is suitable from east to west, as well as south of its adapted zone. This variety offers an excellent disease package, as it offers strong resistance to Phytophthora root rot, white mold, and iron deficiency chlorosis (IDC) – all while bringing top-end yields.

LGS0701XF is a proven, steady-yielding variety with sound agronomics. Like LGS1385XF, LGS0701XF offers an excellent disease package, offering protection against white mold, IDC, and Phytophthora root rot. You can count on this variety to consistently finish at the top of trials year after year, especially in areas that experience above-average stress.

LGS1867E3 is one of our top-performing varieties in poorly drained soils from east to west, and performs best in medium- to high-yielding environments. Count on this variety to stay green in standing water, keeping its color three to four days longer than leading competitors. It exhibits strong resistance against white mold and Phytophthora.

LGS0822E3 is an outstanding all-around soybean variety that consistently performs near the top in high- or low-yield environments across the northern Corn Belt. Look towards this variety for top-notch emergence on your no-till acres. It has excellent Phytophthora root rot tolerance when double stacked with the Rps1c and Rps3a genes. Lean on this variety if your acres need protection against IDC, soybean cyst nematode (SCN), or drought stress.

LGS2105E3 is our best performing variety in drought-prone soils, exhibiting top performance across fields that experienced the worst of the drought conditions in 2022. LGS2105E3 offers an overall sound agronomic package, allowing it to perform in a variety of yield and soil environments (including no-till), while excelling in standability and emergence.

LGS2025XF is an older, broadly adapted variety that works on all your soil types and tillage situations. Rely on this variety for resistance to SCN, PRR, IDC, white mold, and brown stem rot (BSR). It also shows excellent stress tolerance – giving you top-end yields.

LGS3216E3 is a veteran hybrid that offers the highest yield potential in our Enlist platform lineup, and is best suited for heavy, black, sometimes wet soil. It is an all-around strong variety that’s a good fit in environments with higher disease susceptibility – with high ratings against sudden death syndrome and charcoal rot. Lean on this variety if you need a soybean that has exceptional late-season health and yield potential.

LGS3688E3 is a new variety we’ve added to our lineup for 2023. It is the utility player you can put on every acre. Coupling its excellent standability with its versatility, LGS3688E3 hits the high ceiling for the productive acres, making this a must-plant bean.

LGS3784XF is the highest yielding soybean in our lineup, edging out the current yield record-holder for many growers, the Xtend variety (LGS3777RX). This variety offers a completely unique look, impressive yields, and the ability to handle stress throughout the Corn Belt. It also brings an impressive disease profile to the table.

LGS4122E3 works well in multiple soil types, except for those that experience prolonged wet periods. It has been a high-yielding performer in plots for the past two years, while offering great appearance, strong standability, and exceptional emergence. If you’re working in a no-till environment, look towards this variety to perform on your acres.

LGS4640XF is a proven performer for the Mid-South and Delta regions. Yield potential and stress tolerance for this variety are first-in-class for its maturity. For growers using double-crop planting methods or need a soybean that brings multiple herbicide tolerance traits to their lineup, LGS4640XF is the variety you’ll want to snag for 2023.
